Solar panels on all metro rail buildings, depot in Patna
PATNA All the stations of Patna Metro Rail Corporation( PMRC) will have green structures while the elevated stations and the depot are designed in an energy-effective manner to straight down accommodate rooftop solar panels.
The way have been taken to make metro most terrain-friendly, give power force to the stations and reduce carbon footmark.
On the lines of Delhi metro model, the Patna metro has planned to use solar power energy for supplementary services at the stations, like elevators, escalators, lighting, signalling, telecommunication, firefighting and chow collection system.
The Patna Metro Rail Corporation prophet said considering the futuristic technology and eventuality for solar power generation, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Ltd( DMRC), the nodal agency of the Patna metro design, will apply rooftop grid- connected solar power panels at named locales of elevated stations and conservation depot.
The solar panels will induce roughly6.5 megawatts of electricity per day. Different shanties and structures of the establishment are proposed to be used for solar photovoltaic( SPV) installation to optimize the solar energy eventuality. The demand of power at each elevated station is anticipated to be 200kW- 300kW and for each resistance station 1500kW- 2000kW. According to officers, the solar power will be transferred to the underground stations from depot, proposed near the Patliputra Bus Terminal.
This action for Patna metro won't only reduce the reliance onnon-renewable sources of energy but is also in line with the central government’s target of achieving 50 accretive electric power from renewable coffers by 2030 and achieve net- zero carbon emigrations by 2070. This action is also in line with the measures suggested by Bihar Renewable Energy Development Agency( BREDA) towards espousing sustainable construction practices, ” the officers said.
